I need to redesign here. Any ideas?

Things have been busy... I've been doing people's taxes because the ministry I work for is a free tax site. Imagine that. People are letting me do their taxes. Actually it's pretty easy and a computer program does all the thinking for me. I had to take an IRS test to show that I have a good understanding of taxes, so I am not clueless.

Stuff with the homeless is going well. I preach this sunday and am really not ready yet. Because of taxes I haven't had as much prep time. Oh well...there goes my day off.

Tonight was our homeless movie night. We show a movie and serve popcorn and lemonade. There was less people there than normal. Not sure what's up. But it was colder this week end, that can have an affect.

Hey... Its me. Obviously. Well, unless I was hacked, in which case I'd be someone else. I'd hate that because I really like being me.

So for the life update for the maybe seven people that care. Sarah and I had a good D.C. Christmas, but then Sarah's grandmother died and she went back to Indiana for a week, making my Miami New Year's uneventful and boring (hence I didn't post here).

I preach on Sunday and fairly regularly now (every two weeks). My boss says I'm getting better but hasn't as of yet giving me anything in the way of concrete feedback. Sctratch that, he did say, "continue to try and be interactive." Yay me. I try and read about preaching everytime I preach, and this time I'm reading said book below about how most preaching is just speaching and should instead be a progressional dialogue with the community the preacher is a part of. I like it but he has yet to really flush out what he means and talks about speaching like every pastor does this when I know numerous examples of people who don't.

Okay besides my current read...This weekend is Martin Luther King weekend and the ministry I work for is having a block party/service provider fair for the community we work in. I am psyched. It's tomorrow night. Should be a good time.

Oh and next week CCDA comes to Miami in the form of CCDA Institue (a mini-conference). If you don't know what CCDA is, I'll tell you. They are the grand gurus of urban ministry, helmed by Wayne Gordon and John Perkins. I am so excited!!!

While everybody who my work had their stuff in storage (because of Wilma) was supposed to pick it up last week. Of course they didn't because people in the inner city who have been displaced can't seem to work on our schedule to get thier lives back together again. So we moved everyone whose stuff remained into a storage locker a couple miles away. So unfortunately we have to move things twice, but at least they will get their stuff.

I feel for the most part, totally exhausted. I don't remember last year being this exhausting. Maybe AAGP  (adopt a grandparent ) gave me gifts for my journey that kept me going this time last year. Maybe I  just don't remember and I am romantisizing my experience last year. I don't know, but I feel tired. I'm so glad Christmas is coming and we'll be at my sister's

I hope every one carves out a good thanksgiving for themselves. Sarah and I are looking forward to a much needed rest this weekend. Happy Turk Ebay!!!  Or something like that.
